The Lancaster-Lebanon Basketball League has been insane this year. With so many close games throughout the course of the season, many teams have been reaching goals no one had ever expected from them. One of these surprising achievers is the Blazers of Lancaster Mennonite.
The Blazers were coming off an incredible playoff run last season, making it all the way to the state semifinals only to lose off a buzzer-beating three pointer. That team graduated a lot of senior leadership, leaving questions for who would pick up the team for next season.
This is where Elijah Bynum, class of 2019, stepped up. This season, Bynum has taken the leadership role for the Blazers and was able to lead the team to it's first section championship in two years. We've got a ways to go
, says Bynum, The playoffs are ahead of us and we need to focus on one game at a time
.
The Blazers start their district playoffs on Monday, February 18th against Brandywine Heights. In the last meeting of these teams earlier this season, the Blazers came out victorious. Bynum and the rest of the Blazers squad hope history will repeat itself on Monday.
